JEE Main 2019 - Login for Examination City, Date and Shift!



Joint Entrance Examination (Main)

  • Conducted by NTA - National Testing Agency under the guidance Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India.
  • It is used as the sole admission test by the 31 National Institute of Technology (NITs), 23 IIITs, and 23 GFTIs.
  • Mode of examination is online.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Should be less than 25 years of age. For SC, ST, PwD candidates the age limit is 30 years.
  • Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017 or 2018; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 ( 3 attempts).
  • Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination.
Schedule of Examination
  • Phase 1
    • Online submission of application forms: September 1 to September 30, 2018
    • Downloading of admit cards: December 17, 2018
    • Dates of examination: January 6 to January 20, 2019 (8 different sitings and candidate can choose any one)
    • Declaration of results: January 31, 2019
  • Phase 2
    • Online submission of application forms: February 8 to March 7, 2019
    • Downloading of admit cards: March 18, 2019
    • Dates of examination: April 6 to April 20, 2019 (8 different sittings and candidate can choose any one)
    • Declaration of results: April 30, 2019
 

Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)

 
  • Conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati) under guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).
  • It is used as the sole admission test by the 23 Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).
  • Other universities like the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs) and the premier Indian Institute of Science (IISc) also use the score obtained in JEE Advanced as the basis for admission. These institutes only use JEE advanced score for admission.
  • From 2017, IITs started conducting JEE internationally to give admission to international students
  • Mode of examination is online.
 Eligibility Criteria
  • Should be among the top 2, 24,000 candidates (approx.) in JEE (Main).
  • Should be less than 25 years of age. For SC, ST, PwD candidates the age limit is 30 years.
  • The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Advanced) shall be limited to 02 (Two).
  • Should not have accepted admission in any of the IITs earlier.
Board Percentage criteria
  • Class 12 - >= 75% (Gen/OBC)
  • Class 12- >= 65%  (SC/ST/PwD)
  • Or among top 20 percentile in respective boards.
